Motion idea memo

I found the concept of “Imaginary Flowers” really intriguing.
When I started thinking about the idea of flowers through movement,
I realized that, from a biological perspective, they involve elements like “sprouting,” “blooming,” “swaying,” and “falling.”
On a more emotional, human level, flowers can “adorn” celebrations,
“reflect” a scene or feeling, and even serve as a “metaphor” for people.
With this project in mind, I tried to bring all of these aspects together.
Out of curiosity, I also looked into poems about flowers and found that
many spring-themed poems appear in the Kokin Wakashū.
It made me realize that the concept of flowers has long been used to symbolize the arrival of spring,
evoke it through their fragrance, or suggest its fleeting nature as they wither.
In that sense, flowers have been an “imaginary” presence for people since as far back as the Heian period.
I felt a strong connection between this idea and Uesatsu’s exhibition, and I found the statement very beautiful as well.

Overall, I incorporated elements such as blooming, swaying, adorning, and falling into the movement design.
